Merry Busy Christmas

Merry Busy Christmas ... to us!

It has been a very busy week. For some reason "pea in a pod" decided that mommy was not going to get sick until the week of Christmas. For the last 12 weeks everything has been great, I have been very tired, but not really sick. Well, that was not good enough, and there is no method to the madness either. My brother in law told me, to not pray for rain if I don't want to get wet. That's a man for you...no understanding of pregnancy. I am not complaining, I am very happy to get sick, and my clothes don't fit...but give me a break sometimes it's not all cute and glam.

Enough of that on to Christmas. Friday night David and I attended a "ugly sweater" party. It was a lot of fun. David had a green sweater that was really old, and because I hate sweaters right now I wore a red shirt. I got to see a lot of people that I went to high school with. Most of them graduated after me so I felt old. The party was an hour away so by the time I got home - you guessed it, I went straight to bed.

Saturday was a very busy day. Saturday morning well...I slept until 9:00 and then woke up, got ready, and we went to lunch with our friends Amos and Stacy. There little girl Katie Mai turned 2 on Sunday so we went ahead and let her open her gifts. We had lunch at P.F. Chang's, I had soup it was so good. It was so great to see them, they live in Athens, GA now so we don't get to see them a lot. Later that night David and I went to a party at his cousin Renee's house. We got to see David's side of the family, sometimes they don't always get along but, we got out in one piece. We had to leave and go to our third event for the day. We went to a party at David's friends Adam and Kendie. They are the people that we bought our house from. That party was really fun. We got to see people that we had no seen in a long time. Time passed away so quickly. Before I knew it the clock said midnight, way pass my bedtime. I did what any good little pregnant wife would do, I went in there guest room and went to sleep until David was ready to go! At 3 a.m. David came to wake me and we went home.

Sunday - another busy day! We attended church that morning - I was so tired. We had to leave right away to be at my aunts house on time to have Christmas there. We ate, spent good quality time with one another and opened gifts. This was the first Christmas without my Nana, Christmas was her holiday. I miss her so much everyday, but especially on Christmas. She would have been really proud of us, we decorated her house the same on Thanksgiving, we had everything we were supposed to for dinner and there were to many presents to count! Yep, another Nana Christmas! I can just see her smiling down from heaven, mad because we didn't use the china, silver, and crystal. I think I loved that about my Nana most, she always made everything formal as if the queen was coming for dinner. This year for Christmas David and I wanted baby stuff, we didn't need anything or want anything. So lets just say this year - our child is not even here yet, and he or she got a ton for Christmas. My mom and her side of the family got us our stroller and carrier, a high chair, clothes, and gift cards. Mommy and Daddy got stuff to but, baby stuff is more fun to talk about. We had to leave there and go back to church, we attended a very good service and then had to leave to go over to David's parents to open gifts there. Chris and Janel had to go to Atlanta for Christmas so we had to do Christmas early. We ate and then opened gifts. Again, "pea in a pod" got a lot of stuff. David's parents got a lot of stuff for the nursery, and Chris and Janel got us the cutest cards. We left there late - got home late - and I went to bed late yet again.

Monday - day 4 of no sleep - someone please save me!
Every year our church has "Christmas Blitz" on Christmas Eve we deliver gifts and food to families in our community that really need help. It's my favorite part of Christmas, it's so rewarding to know that our little church can help so many. After Christmas Blitz we always go over to David's parents house for there annual Christmas Eve party. It's a party that takes place all day long. From 12 to 8, fifty or more people come through the house. Some people we see through out the year and some we only see at this party, so it's always fun! We stayed there late and of course got home late.

Tuesday - MERRY CHRISTMAS...TO US!
For the first time in 26 years I was able to stay at the same place on Christmas morning. I am totally hooked, and will never go back. David and I slept in a little, my mom and Billy came over at 9 and we spent some time with them. David and I opened our gifts to each other, it was so sweet. We layed around being lazy people until 3 - we went by the grave yard to visit my Nana and Jen then we had to go to my aunts house to see my Dad. We stayed there for a little bit and went back to David's parents. After writing this we were at David's parents house a lot. Every year we all go over to David parents friends, Jimmy and Marlyn. It's kind of a "Christmas is over" event. We left there, went back to David's parents loaded the car and went home.

Wednesday and Thursday have been boring - We just had to work. This weekend we have a full schedule yet again - we are going to Auburn for a wedding. I will fill you in on all the details later! Have a great week.

Busy, Relaxing Weekend

If it's possible, we have had a busy, but relaxing weekend. Friday, David and I had to go to the funeral home to visit a friend, her mom had passed away. After we left the funeral home we went to eat at the local Mexican restaurant. We tried to get everything together for our angel tree twins, they love spider man. It's been hard to find spider man stuff that 2 years old's can play with. I think we finally got everything! I went to Costco on Friday to pick up Christmas cards (I am so bad, I usually have them out by the 1st) while I was there I HAD to buy this rocking horse for our "pea in a pod." When we got it home it didn't work, the head and tail move and it is supposed to make noise. We are going to replace the batteries so hopefully it will work.

Saturday, we went to my Dad's Christmas party at Opryland hotel. We ate so much food and had a really good time. After the bunch we went to see the Radio City Rockettes. I have wanted to see them since they started coming to Nashville. It was so cool, my Dad and David could have cared less... but I thought it was a very good show. We left the show and went over to Opry Mills, that was such a mistake. Hello, don't ever go to the mall before Christmas unless you can stay a lifetime. We had to be at another Christmas party by 6:00, it took us 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot! We finally made it to our last event for the evening. We had a wonderful time at the home of Kevin and Tonya for an eventful evening. At 10:30 we arrived at home...I went straight to bed.

Sunday...well lets just say that today as been a very lazy day. I woke up this morning and felt horrible. I told David I couldn't go to church, we both laid back down and woke up at 1:00....yes that's right 1:00 p.m. I can't tell you the last time I did that. We are going to spend the day just being vegetables, and so far its agreeing with us both, the "pea in the pod" is loving it. Tonight we will go to church, I am sure people are going to think bad of us because we missed this morning. We are going to be home early because we have to take the "pea in the pod" to the doctor tomorrow to see how he or she is doing. I love doctor appointment days. I'll let you know how it goes.

Melting Night

Yesterday was quite a day. I had to work at home in the morning, when I walked out into the world it was so cold! I had a slow day at work, it was a nice change.

David and I went to his company Christmas party at the melting pot. I was so excited because we had not been there in a long time. We started with cheese which was so good and I was so hungry. It didn't take long for me to get full. It's the weirdest thing, I though t when you get pregnant you eat a lot? Not me, I have been eating like a bird lately. I didn't even eat my salad, then when the main course came I ate a couple of pieces of meat and that was it. I wasn't going to miss out on the chocolate so I made myself eat it - I paid for that later! I had a really good time though, I really enjoyed talking to the people David works with. I love my job but sometimes I don't like that I have to pick up the phone to talk to people I work with.

After we left the melting pot David and I were driving back to his office to pick up his car. I had to go to the restroom really bad, so we stopped at McDonald's and they were closed, so we drove down the street to Starbucks so I could go, I knew Starbucks would be opened. As we were leaving McDonald's David forgot to turn the lights on the car back on and we got pulled over by a Vanderbilt cop. This guy was the rudest cop I had ever seen. Yes, I know we needed to have our lights on, but we got the third degree for it. He even ask David if he had been drinking, David was like... NO! After he said that the guy I think got the point that we weren't some college kids out for a joy ride... you would think the fat pregnant lady in the passenger seat would have given it away. We didn't get a ticket, so I guess the guy wasn't that bad. We got home about 10:30 and I went straight to bed. I can't wait till I can walk through the door and not be so tired.

Long two weeks

OK, I know it's been forever since I wrote. My friend Kelly got on to me last night...so Kelly I am blogging!!! David and I have been so busy the last couple of weeks. All I want to do is sleep when I have a second to spare. David has been working late. What are we going to do when our baby gets here???

My work has been crazy, I have had people riding with me and its a busy holiday season. We went to our first Christmas party of the season, it was at the symphony hall in Nashville. We had a lot of fun, but by 9:00 I was tired and wanted to go to sleep. How fun am I to be around!!! This past weekend I had to work...fun! Saturday night David and I went to the adult Christmas party at church. We had a really good time. Kym, tell your mom I still feel bad about the snowman! Again, I went home and went to bed. David at least is going out and having fun, after the party he went over to a friends house that he had not seen in a while.

Sunday of course is church day, David and I try really hard to keep our holy day ... holy. So we go to church in the morning, go to lunch, come home and spend time together (that means I sleep this days) and we try not to do anything outside of that. Sunday night we always go to church, the last two Sunday's we have had a really good service. Mark has been talking about artifacts found around the world that give proof that the Bible is real. Every Sunday night we go have dinner with our church family at the country junction. Its become a tradition, however this Sunday because of a not so pleasant smell I go sick. So, I don't know if we will go this Sunday or not.

So far this week has been great. Same stuff different week ... sleep in until I have to get up (only after I hit the snooze button a couple of times) eat breakfast, get ready, eat a snack, go to work, eat lunch, eat a snack, come home, watch t.v., eat dinner, and go to sleep by 10. That's my day!!! I hope everyone has had a great couple of weeks. I promise I will blog more often so it's not this long.
