Merry Busy Christmas

Merry Busy Christmas ... to us!

It has been a very busy week. For some reason "pea in a pod" decided that mommy was not going to get sick until the week of Christmas. For the last 12 weeks everything has been great, I have been very tired, but not really sick. Well, that was not good enough, and there is no method to the madness either. My brother in law told me, to not pray for rain if I don't want to get wet. That's a man for you...no understanding of pregnancy. I am not complaining, I am very happy to get sick, and my clothes don't fit...but give me a break sometimes it's not all cute and glam.

Enough of that on to Christmas. Friday night David and I attended a "ugly sweater" party. It was a lot of fun. David had a green sweater that was really old, and because I hate sweaters right now I wore a red shirt. I got to see a lot of people that I went to high school with. Most of them graduated after me so I felt old. The party was an hour away so by the time I got home - you guessed it, I went straight to bed.

Saturday was a very busy day. Saturday morning well...I slept until 9:00 and then woke up, got ready, and we went to lunch with our friends Amos and Stacy. There little girl Katie Mai turned 2 on Sunday so we went ahead and let her open her gifts. We had lunch at P.F. Chang's, I had soup it was so good. It was so great to see them, they live in Athens, GA now so we don't get to see them a lot. Later that night David and I went to a party at his cousin Renee's house. We got to see David's side of the family, sometimes they don't always get along but, we got out in one piece. We had to leave and go to our third event for the day. We went to a party at David's friends Adam and Kendie. They are the people that we bought our house from. That party was really fun. We got to see people that we had no seen in a long time. Time passed away so quickly. Before I knew it the clock said midnight, way pass my bedtime. I did what any good little pregnant wife would do, I went in there guest room and went to sleep until David was ready to go! At 3 a.m. David came to wake me and we went home.

Sunday - another busy day! We attended church that morning - I was so tired. We had to leave right away to be at my aunts house on time to have Christmas there. We ate, spent good quality time with one another and opened gifts. This was the first Christmas without my Nana, Christmas was her holiday. I miss her so much everyday, but especially on Christmas. She would have been really proud of us, we decorated her house the same on Thanksgiving, we had everything we were supposed to for dinner and there were to many presents to count! Yep, another Nana Christmas! I can just see her smiling down from heaven, mad because we didn't use the china, silver, and crystal. I think I loved that about my Nana most, she always made everything formal as if the queen was coming for dinner. This year for Christmas David and I wanted baby stuff, we didn't need anything or want anything. So lets just say this year - our child is not even here yet, and he or she got a ton for Christmas. My mom and her side of the family got us our stroller and carrier, a high chair, clothes, and gift cards. Mommy and Daddy got stuff to but, baby stuff is more fun to talk about. We had to leave there and go back to church, we attended a very good service and then had to leave to go over to David's parents to open gifts there. Chris and Janel had to go to Atlanta for Christmas so we had to do Christmas early. We ate and then opened gifts. Again, "pea in a pod" got a lot of stuff. David's parents got a lot of stuff for the nursery, and Chris and Janel got us the cutest cards. We left there late - got home late - and I went to bed late yet again.

Monday - day 4 of no sleep - someone please save me!
Every year our church has "Christmas Blitz" on Christmas Eve we deliver gifts and food to families in our community that really need help. It's my favorite part of Christmas, it's so rewarding to know that our little church can help so many. After Christmas Blitz we always go over to David's parents house for there annual Christmas Eve party. It's a party that takes place all day long. From 12 to 8, fifty or more people come through the house. Some people we see through out the year and some we only see at this party, so it's always fun! We stayed there late and of course got home late.

Tuesday - MERRY CHRISTMAS...TO US!
For the first time in 26 years I was able to stay at the same place on Christmas morning. I am totally hooked, and will never go back. David and I slept in a little, my mom and Billy came over at 9 and we spent some time with them. David and I opened our gifts to each other, it was so sweet. We layed around being lazy people until 3 - we went by the grave yard to visit my Nana and Jen then we had to go to my aunts house to see my Dad. We stayed there for a little bit and went back to David's parents. After writing this we were at David's parents house a lot. Every year we all go over to David parents friends, Jimmy and Marlyn. It's kind of a "Christmas is over" event. We left there, went back to David's parents loaded the car and went home.

Wednesday and Thursday have been boring - We just had to work. This weekend we have a full schedule yet again - we are going to Auburn for a wedding. I will fill you in on all the details later! Have a great week.
